TARDIS Boston 2015
April 3-5, 2015 Cancelled
Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel
Boston, MA
Science Fiction Convention
Organized by Alien Entertainment
It is with a heavy heart that we are making the following announcement:
We are saddened to report that in the last 24 hours certain events have taken place, which have significantly derailed Boston TARDIS 2015.
In the beginning of this venture, we were disheartened that our event would be clashing with a very popular, local convention - Anime Boston - as well as a weekend that holds religious significance for many of those who might potentially attend. If we wanted to continue into 2016, it looked like we had no choice but to go forward with our plans. Thankfully, next year, our event will be held far away from any dates such as these.
First off, we just received word this morning that Samuel Anderson will not be able to make it to Boston TARDIS due to professional commitments that have come up for him. We know many of you were really wanting to see him, and were coming to our event just for him. Secondly, the pressure to choose a date has unfortunately contributed the fact that pre-registration sales were lower than expected. This and knowing that Samuel Anderson's absence will greatly impact the event, we are sad to announce that we will be canceling Boston TARDIS 2015.
Refunds are currently being issued via Eventbrite, and e-mails will be going out to all online ticket holders updating them about the status of the convention. To check on the status of your refund, please call Eventbrite at 1 (888) 810-2063 or e-mail us at [email protected].
We hope to go strongly into the future with the help of the local fan community. Some groups have already reached out to us wondering what we will be doing for 2016. This turn of events has not derailed us from looking into the future.
On August 4, 2015 - post Boston Comic Con - we will be having our first local meeting to talk about Boston TARDIS 2016. We would like anyone who wishes to be involved in any respect to join us for this meeting. More details will follow in the coming months.
Please understand how devastating a decision this was for us. We want Boston TARDIS to live up to the high standards our parent convention, Chicago TARDIS, maintains - which is precisely the reason we could not hold the Boston event this year in good conscience. Be assured that this turn of events will in no way impact Chicago or Phoenix TARDIS.
We hope to have you involved with our venture for 2016, and will be sure to keep all those who wished to be involved apprised of changes as we go forward.
Thank you!
