News for Zenkaikon 2009:
Zenkaikon announces Reni Mimura, programming changes, attendance cap
VALLEY FORGE, PENNSYLVANIA - October 16, 2009: The staff of Zenkaikon is happy to announce the final guest for its 2009 convention -- cosplay singer Reni Mimura. They also are announcing some programming changes, including the addition of two new events -- Iron Artist: Zenkaikon Edition and the Beatles Rock Band Sing-Off. Finally, they are formally announcing the addition of a registration cap for this year's convention.
About Reni Mimura:
Reni, born and raised in Japan, specializes in Akihabara style performances -- a genre that emphasizes the cute look of Japanese pop-culture with the hip appeal of Japanese animation. Through her singing and dancing, she creates an adorable, peaceful, yet exciting mood. Her first Japanese CD was released in 2006. In 2008, Reni relocated to New York City, hoping to bring this unique style to the United States. As interest in Japanese entertainment grows among the American youth, Reni offers her audiences the most fun and authentic Japanese pop experience, without ever having to travel to Tokyo. Reni is quickly winning over the hearts of many new local fans, thanks to her pretty stage costumes, upbeat personality, and her outstanding singing talent.

About the Zenkaikon 2009 Cosplay Ball:
Due to unforeseen events, Zenkaikon must cancel the 2009 Cosplay Ball. The staff offers their sincere apologies for this sudden change, as they know that many attendees look forward to this event. They hope that attendees will enjoy the other cosplay events offered at the convention, including the Cosplay Masquerade, Hall Cosplay Contest, the Cosplay Dating Game, and the interactive Cosplay production by Concept Galaxy, as well as the new guests and events recently announced. Attendees should look for the return of a bigger and better Cosplay Ball at Zenkaikon 2010.
About the Zenkaikon 2009 Attendance Cap:
The staff of Zenkaikon wishes to thank everyone who has made pre-registration for Zenkaikon 2009 such an extraordinary success. Due to an overwhelming number of pre-registrations (approximately a 160% increase over the previous year), Zenkaikon has decided to announce an attendance cap of 1500 attendees per day for Zenkaikon 2009. By October 20, 2009, there will be a count available on the registration page of the Zenkaikon website, noting the number of available memberships remaining. Attendees who pre-register are guaranteed admission to the convention, and will be able to check in beginning at 8:00am on Saturday (an hour before general admission). Any questions regarding registration or the attendance cap can be directed to [email protected]. Thank you for your understanding as we work with our venue to ensure the full enjoyment of all of our attendees.
About Zenkaikon:
Zenkaikon was formed by the merger of the anime and sci-fi convention Zentrancon and the anime convention Kosaikon, both in the Philadelphia area. In 2006, they put on their first event, which was a tremendous success. Zenkaikon will return for its fourth installment on November 7 and 8, 2009, moving into the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge. The convention will feature two days of programming with dealers, artists, panels, performances, gaming, and more. The Zenkaikon staff wishes to thank the many attendees who made the 2008 event such a huge success. They hope to see this trend continue in 2009, and are actively anticipating expansion with larger performance and panel areas, dealer space, and video game rooms.
