Anime Milwaukee announces guests

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Anime Milwaukee Convention 2011 (AMKE) is thrilled to announce Doug Walker, Spike Spencer, Mike McFarland, Uncle Yo, Chris Cason, and Monica Rial as their guests in this year's convention located at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 18-20, 2011.

Previously located on the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee campus, AMKE is hosting their 2011 conference in downtown Milwaukee at the Hyatt Regency and Frontier Airlines Center which will accommodate the growing amount of anime fans in the Midwest! This change also allows for 24 hour programming, informative guest and fan panels, cosplay contest, children's programming, video game room to name a few. Mike McFarland is an American actor known for his work as one of the first voice actors in Texas to be hired by FUNimation Productions in 1997 and has since moved on to become a director, scriptwriter, and line producer for numerous anime series. Some of his more notable voice roles include: Master Roshi and Yajirobe in Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Z: Kai, Baby and Baby-Vegeta in Dragon Ball GT, Goemon in Lupin The Third (Movie Specials), Ritsu Sohma in Fruits Basket, Lt. Jean Havoc in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Cain in Trinity Blood.

Spike Spencer is an American actor known for his voice acting in hundreds of English language versions of anime including Evangelion, Vampire Knight, Bleach, Spriggan, Nadesico, Pretear, Code Geass 2, and Buso Renkin as well as a number of video games including World of Warcraft-The Burning Crusades, Tales of Vesperia, BlazBlue, Trauma Center, Steambot Chronicles, and Star Ocean 2. Spencer has also voiced many radio and television commercials and campaigns. Outside of voice acting, Spencer has worked onscreen with notable stars as Tommy Lee Jones, Sandra Bullock, Frank Langella, Tia Carrere, and Scott Glenn. Spike is also an author/screenwriter and is in pre-production on his first feature film that he scripted, "Dwindle Down."

Monica Rial is an American voice actress, ADR director, and script writer who works for ADV Films, Funimation Entertainment, and Seraphim Digital Studios. She has provided voices for a number of English language versions of Japanese anime films and television series including Full Metal Panic, Tsubasa Chronicles, Full Metal Alchemist, Crayon Shinchan to name a few. Rial is also a writer for FUNimation and ADV Films and usually writes under the pen names Dorothy Garrett and Lisa Blanchard.

Christopher L. Cason is an American voice actor, ADR Director and scriptwriter who works for anime series from FUNimation Entertainment. He has provided voices for a number of English language versions of Japanese anime films. He probably best known as the voice of Mr. Popo in Dragon Ball Z Kai, Haruki Hanai in School Rumble and Gluttony in Fullmetal Alchemist. He has also played a part in many popular video games, including being one of the contributing guitarists in Guitar Hero 3.

Doug Walker from ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com, is a Chicago native best known for his character The Nostalgia Critic, who reviews bad movies and TV shows from childhood. He also plays the roles of Chester A. Bum, the hyper active bum who loves every movie ever made, and Dominic, a bar tender who has talked with some of the video game world's biggest stars.

Uncle Yo has toured many conventions performing his unique stand-up comedy aimed exclusively at the geek community. Discussion panel leader, game show host and emcee all-in-one, this Renaissance Nerd keeps the laughs coming and the show rolling. Armed with his giant D20, Uncle Yo celebrates all brands of nerdom: anime, comic books, video games, LARPing, Star Wars, RPGs and manga. He may be One Piece short of a Fullmetal Alchemist, but this Jedi intern promises to "Bebop your Cowboy so hard you'll feel it in your joystick."

ABOUT ANIME MILWAUKEE: Anime Milwaukee is a three-day celebration of anime, manga, video games, and other aspects of Japanese culture. The convention features industry guests, informative fan and guest panels, cosplay contest, charity character auction, maid cafe, Lolita fashion show, vendor and artist exhibit hall, table top gaming, rave, children's programming, video game room. Anime Milwaukee will be held February 18-20, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Special room rates are available for only $90 a night!
