News for MomoCon 2011:

MomoCon announces new location, registration, and guests

Anime O-Tekku of Georgia Tech is pleased to announce the return of MomoCon, an annual anime/gaming/comics convention held in Atlanta, GA, March 12-13th, 2011 at Georgia Tech campus. The convention is a family friendly event and is free of charge* to all attendees. People of all ages are encouraged to attend!

MomoCon is happy to bring the convention to a new, larger venue to accommodate the influx of fans from all over the Southeast! Tech Square, Downtown, including the Georgia Tech Hotel, College of Management, and Historic Biltmore welcomes MomoCon as a new home. The location is conveniently located less than two miles from the previous location, on the other side of Georgia Tech campus.

New guests to MomoCon in 2011 include Kelly Adams, contributing writer for BigShinyRobot.com, Bryan Mon, illustrator and character artist for Cartoon Network, DragonConTV sensations the SciFi Janitors Bob and Carl, Carly Dorsey and Charity Youngblood of the webcomic Overlord Academy. Returning guests include renowned cosplayers Ana Aesthetic and Cathy Jones (God Save the Queen Fashions), prop-makers Harrison Krix (Volpin Props), Bill Winans and Fevereon, comics artists Jennie Breeden (The Devils Panties), Gina Biggs (Red String), Bobby Nash, Sean Taylor, and Bill Holbrook (Kevin and Kell), and the steampunk music stylings of Extraordinary Contraptions!

To aid in financing of the free event, MomoCon is offering special benefits for those who donate to the convention. The basic donation level of $15 is less than half of a typical weekend pass for a fan convention, and helps the event remain free for future years. The main event remains FREE, but members donating at certain levels can enjoy a variety of benefits: badges mailed prior to the convention, early access to the Dealers Room, and more! Attendees are encouraged to pre-register early. Attendees will be able to register on-site for free on March 12th and 13th, but can avoid lines by pre-registering with donation.

MomoCon is also announcing an open call to the fan community for T-shirt, Badge, and Program Book Art. Participating artists whose designs are chosen will receive a prize pack of anime and mange merchandise as well as full credit on MomoCon.com and in the program book.
