News for MomoCon 2010:

MomoCon announces new guests and events

MomoCon, North America's largest free admission fan convention, announces a host of new guests and events for the 2010 event and an Elegant Gothic Lolita afternoon tea get-together in February. The convention is a family friendly event and is free of charge* to all attendees. People of all ages are encouraged to attend!

In addition to the experienced guests already announced, MomoCon is happy to welcome many new guests, including The Man Power, a rock and roll band, Gamesare, local game producers who enjoy teaching attendees the ins and outs of creating video games, and Mike Fahey, the East-Coast correspondent for Kotaku.com, one of the largest video game news blogs in the US. New comic guests include Jennie Breeden, author of The Devil's Panties and Gina Biggs, author of Red String original English-language manga.

MomoCon is also pleased to announce a host of tournaments for the convention, including multiple CCG tournaments such as Magic the Gathering and Battle Spirits. Video gaming tournaments include Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Halo 3, Modern Warfare 2 and many others. Board game tournaments include Cosmic Encounter, an intergalactic galaxy conquering adventure, and many more!

In February, MomoCon on Tour welcomes the elegant, the gothic, and the Lolita-fashioned for an afternoon tea at TahCha Tea House in Atlanta, GA at 3pm. Tea, snacks, and sandwiches will be available for purchase by attending ladies and gentlemen in EGL garb. The attending the event itself is free of charge. Due to the size of the venue, the event will be restricted to 30 attendees, reservations are required. Email [email protected] to reserve your spot!

Haven't pre-registered for MomoCon? Tickets are over half gone and are running out quickly! MomoCon will be having a cap of 7,000 attendees for its 2010 convention. Pre-registration is available in partnership with FandomU, a social network for convention attendees/fans, and is available at www.momocon.com. The main event remains FREE, but members donating at certain levels can enjoy a variety of benefits: badges mailed prior to the convention, early access to the Dealers Room, and more! Attendees are encouraged to pre-register immediately. Advance on-site registration and pre-reg badge pick-up will be available as early as March 19th at the Georgia Tech Campus. Attendees will remain able to register for a very limited amount of on-site tickets at the convention, March 20th and 21st.

* Attendees Ages 16 and older admitted with valid government ID (driver's license, military, passport etc) at registration. Minors younger than 16 must have an adult be present at registration to sign-off on their registration form. An adult can sign-off all minors in their party.
