Sketch Ellis
Artist / Musician
Atlanta, GA
Biography:
Ever since he was a boy, Sketch Ellis wanted to either be a musician or a comic artist.
Sketch's career began at the age of 13 playing drums in a popular corporate band in the South. After graduating high school, he was signed to his first major record deal as part of Miss Crazy and moved to California. After Miss Crazy, Sketch joined a corporate show in Las Vegas and began producing local bands in the Las Vegas area. Sketch toured with and shared the stage alongside acts such as Buckcherry, Army of Anyone, Warrant, L.A. Guns, Molly Hatchet, Kid Rock, Alice Cooper, and Foreigner. During this time, he also achieved a development deal as part of a pop-punk band called Uppercased.
After experiencing the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas, Sketch decided to pursue his interests in production. He enrolled in the recording arts program at Full Sail University where he had the privilege of learning from industry greats such as Chris Lord-Alge. After graduating with a bachelor's degree of science in recording arts, Sketch went on to work as an independent producer, mixing engineer, and songwriter. He was a lead songwriter and music producer for the children's program GABIE and the sound designer and vocal talent for the cartoon Groupeez. He has also mixed and produced several big-name bands and has received recognition for his work on some of their most recognized radio hits.
Currently, Sketch is the COO for a tech start-up called GOSSUP, is working as a producer and mixer, and currently has a gold and two platinum records. He is also working on his personal project, Kings of the Apocalypse, which combines his love of comics and music.
As of August 2022, Sketch has officially achieved his other childhood dream of becoming a comic artist with his first official cover art. He is currently a cover artist for Boom Studios and Dynamite Entertainment and is featured on Power Rangers, Vampirella, Dejah Thoris, and Red Sonja comic covers.
