Biography:
Ryan Danny Owen (they/them), is a non-binary published author, visual artist, performer, and queer historian based in Moh'kinsstis, Treaty 7/ Calgary, Alberta. Their practice explores intergenerational queer identity, gender, loss, and sexuality through the use of found objects, archive material, pornography, and performance. Their work has been exhibited across Canada and they have written for and been included in various publications as well as published two graphic novels in the five-book series, Pass Me By with Renegade Arts Entertainment. Owen also runs an online queer archive, Mirrors & Windows, featuring a collection of found queer photographs collected from auctions, markets, and personal collections.
