Returning to the theatrical stage this past year, Marcus was nominated for an Area Broadway Best Supporting Actor award and won his first Irma Black Theater Award for the role of Wynton in The Royale in early 2019. Marcus was not done! He has lent his voice in commercials for McDonald's, Zales, Schlotsky's, and Dr. Pepper. He became the official voice of Bacon in Wright Brand's bacon commercials which eventually opened a path to him voicing video game characters. His first game was Deus Ex where he voiced several minor characters. Following this was N64's 2000 release Daikatana where Marcus worked as the voice of Super-Fly Johnson and Terminator Dawn of Fate as the voice of Capt. Justin Perry. It would be a good seven years later before we heard Marcus in another video game. This game was part of the group that changed the scope of gaming and brought a relatable character to a worldwide fan base that Marcus was unaware of. That game was Borderlands and the character in question was Brick. GearBox brought Marcus back for Borderlands 2 where Brick became known as "The Slab King". Due to this, Marcus was nominated in the Best Vocals in a Video Game category for the Behind the Voice Actor Awards. Marcus has continued his iconic role of Brick in Borderlands the Pre-quel, Tales from the Borderlands, the recently released Borderlands 3 plus the Brick and Tiny Tina DLCs Assault on Dragon's Keep and Bunkers and Badasses. Will there be more DLC in Marcus' and Brick's future? That is a great possibility! So you can look forward to hearing the voice of the "Berserk Merc", "The Doorman", "MeatSlab", "Brick the Siren", "Father Figure", "Santa Brick", "The Slab King", and/or "BRICK as himself" Marcus M. Mauldin!
