Biography:
Osamu Masuyama is an animation art director, background artist and an original creator.
In 1999 he joined the famous "Ghibli" studio as an background artist and created background art for the movies "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Ponyo". In 2009 he opened his own art company named "Inspired" where he created background art for many Anime series and even drew backgrounds for the famous movie "Your Name".
Masuysama worked on other titles such as "The Girl Who Leaped Through Time" as an assistant art-director, "Made in Abyss" as an art director and "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica" as an art producer.
Masuyama wrote many books about his art technique and he is also a senior adviser in the Aichi Design College, in Japan.
In 2018 he wrote and produced the movie "When the Kagurasuzu Rings" along with his wife Takehara Naoko.
