Biography:
Junpei Tatenaka was born in 1971 in Ehime Prefecture. After attending an animation school he joined Disney Animation Japan. At Disney Tatenake worked on a vast array of animation projects from an animator on Pooh's Grand Adventure and Pocahantas 2 to a key animator on The Hunchback of Notre Dame II and lead animator on Mulan 2. He now works as a freelance animation supervisor. Among his major works are the MAJOR series (animation supervisor/ action animation supervisor), Ro-Kyu-Bu! (action animation supervisor), and Ace of Diamond (action animation supervisor). On Yuri!!! on ICE Tatenaka served as the lead figure skating animator along with Eiji Abiko.
