Biography:
Dan Starkey is well-known to Doctor Who fans as the always-amusing Sontaran nurse and butler, Strax, as well as for other Sontaran roles in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures. He also appeared sans prosthetics (except for pointed ears) as an elf named "Ian" in the Doctor Who episode "Last Christmas." In the Russell T. Davies/Phil Ford CBBC show, Wizards vs. Aliens, he played helpful hobgoblin Randal Moon.

Dan studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic language, literature and history at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, before pursuing an acting career at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Dan has appeared on stage and in other television and film productions, including Casualty, Inside No. 9, and Alex the Vampire.

Dan has also appeared in numerous Big Finish audio productions, in and out of the Doctor Who universe, including an upcoming story in which Strax teams up with fan favorites Jago & Lightfoot.
