Biography:
Jeffrey S. Burgess (born October 15, 1993 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), better known by the moniker Just Fern, is an American singer, songwriter, voice actor, and music producer. Fern is best known as the frontman of indie rock group Soft Girl, and for lead vocals on "Stay Calm" a collaborative single by singer Burgess and American producer Griffin Lewis, which peaked at #73 on the Amazon Global Top 200 Dance & Electronic Chart. Fern has also provided the voice for the syndicated comic strip character Rae the Doe in two eponymous Christmas specials, under the pseudonym Mags Romero. Over the last decade, Burgess has achieved an internet cult following and has worked, most frequently under alias, on a wide variety of projects, notably including the co-founding of Pittsburgh-based tape label Good Employee and his 2014 independently-released concept album Autumn Nights. Burgess left hometown Pittsburgh in 2019, and currently resides in New Mexico, United States.
