Biography:
Brandon McKinney is a storyboard artist and Director for television animation, a comic book artist and children's book illustrator. He's worked for Warner Bros., Hasbro Animation, Marvel Animation, Warp Graphics, Darby Pop Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm, among many other companies over his almost forty-year career.
Growing up, Brandon became enthralled by Spider-Man comics and the Star Wars films. Those propelled his desire to tell stories with pictures, and he started drawing every day. He got his first job in comics drawing 'Legion X1' for Silverwolf comics while he was still in high school. Brandon went on to draw Child's Play, Elfquest and Godzilla comics. In 1996 he got his dream job illustrating hundreds of scenes from Star Wars for the Big Little Book adaptations of the movies for Chronicle Books. Brandon wrote and drew a 3 issue series called 'Journeyman' that was published by Image Comics. In 1999, he got his first job doing TV animation storyboards for 'Batman Beyond', which launched a new chapter in Brandon's career working in animation. He still kept a foot in the comic book world, drawing a Graphic novel based on the 'Army of Two' video game, the comedy/ action series 'Doberman' for Darby Pop as well as the new 'Bruce Lee: The Dragon Rises' comic book series. He is currently working on storyboards for a new series "Harley Quinn" at Warner Bros. Animation.
He was raised in California where he attended many conventions in the San Francisco and Sacramento area. He is the father of four incredible kids who watch a few of the cartoons he's worked on.
