News for Aurora-Con 2006:

AuroraCorp announces final guests for Aurora-Con 2006

Tom Bateman
Tom dove into the world of Robotech by visiting the Carl Macek Gallery, a comic store down in Orange, CA where he and his brother would pick Carl's brain for tidbits about upcoming episodes. After several years of drifting in and out of anime fandom, Tom organized the Robocon 10 convention in 1995, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the show. The convention featured over a dozen of the show's staff and cast. He was also arrangement coordinator and worked alongside the original composers to help produce the Robotech Perfect Soundtrack Album. His other anime interests are collecting anime books and watching Ranma 1/2, Mobile Suit Gundam (the UC stuff) and other early to mid-Eighties mecha shows. His favorite mecha designers are Hajime Katoki, Hideki Kakinuma, Yutaka Izubuchi and Shoji Kawamori. His favorite character designers are Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Haruhiko Mikimoto.

Tom has contributed greatly to several sections of the Robotech Infopedia. He is now also the Robotech.com Store Administrator and Coordinator of Special Events for conventions.

His experience in anime voice acting began in 1998 when he was cast as Yamcha and Igor on the Dragon Ball movie, "Sleeping Princess In Devil's Castle". Soon afterwards, he was asked to join the anime giant FUNimation Productions to direct the Dragon Ball Z series. His key roles have been Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha and 25 others on Dragon Ball Z, Kuwabara on Yu Yu Hakusho, Alex Louis Armstrong on Fullmetal Alchemist, Ayame on Fruits Basket and countless others. Currently he is running a recording studio in Dallas called OkraTron 5000, Inc for videogame voiceover, music and sound design. This will be Chris' first time in Alaska and he looks forward to eating a lot of fish, giving plenty of "high-fives" and trading fruit in Animal Crossing DS.
